Roundtable Discussion with South Africa's Minister of Communications Ms Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams

Members and African expats in Silicon Valley had a highly constructive invention session on April 26 with Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams, South Africa's dynamic and enlightened Minister of Communications. We were all impressed with the strategic vision she presented on behalf of President Cyril Ramaphosa. Following her presentation, the engaging roundtable discussions among some 30 participants produced insightful recommendations for ways the African Union to play a more active leadership role in advancing the potential of the African market. This includes more affordable broadband service delivery; easier cross-border movement, commerce and business formation; more timely, reliable and insightful data; better intellectual property protection; greater support and fintech services for the informal economy; collaborative trade and cooperative branding; as well as training, education and employment for a multiplying younger generation and digital workforce.
